The Lord’s Prayer in British Sign Language
Posted by gowtsblog on June 23, 2008
I have found this video:
It shows The Lord’s Prayer in British Sign Language (BSL)
Try practising it along with the demonstration.
He does it to a song of the prayer – so it repeats and and is very slightly different in places – but it should help you to learn it.

I’ve learnt a bit but it’s impossible to learn the whole thing.
I like sign language but I’m kind of scared to do it in front of the whole school.

Don’t worry about learning the whole thing on the video.
Just practice the main parts so that you can sign the prayer itself.
Remember that you won’t be performing on your own – there is a whole class and they will be just as nervous as you!

I’ve watched it and it was not how we have learned to sign it.

I know.
As I have said, there are different signs for the same words in BSL.
The video is an aide memoir – to help you practice.
Just have a go at learning the main parts – if we do it a little different then we do – the fact that we try and have a go is what is important.

I have watched this, I don’t think it is very hard and I thought it was a very sad prayer. I have definitely watched this.

I am glad you watched – I will rely on you to teach me!
Can you all remember to check spelling and punctuation before submitting a comment – I have to spend too long correcting things!
Thanks
Mr W
